The Walker County Sheriff’s Office recently recognized several of its dedicated employees for their years of service and outstanding contributions to the agency in 2025.
Years of Service Awards were presented to:
Sergeant Bruce Coker, who received the Recognition of Service Award.
Deputy Roger Avans, honored for 25 years of service.
Captain Richie Dye, recognized for 30 years of service.
Detective Sergeant Walt Hensley, celebrating 35 years of service.
“These awards highlight the commitment and dedication of our team members who have served the citizens of Walker County with distinction,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to service awards, the agency also celebrated its Employees of the Year:
Bruce Morgan, Administration Division Employee of the Year
Officer Christian Woods, Detention Division Employee of the Year
Deputy Lynn Thomas, Court Services Division Employee of the Year
Detective Sergeant Michael Durham, Criminal Investigations Division Employee of the Year
Deputy Shelby Creighton, Deputy Matthew Creighton, and Sergeant Jonathan Camp, Patrol Division Employees of the Year
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to all staff members for their tireless efforts in running the agency and serving the community every day.
