Authorities in Walker County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of robbing a convenience store at gunpoint earlier this summer.

The incident happened on the night of July 8 at Steve’s Quick Stop on Broomtown Road. According to Sheriff Steve Wilson, a man entered the store carrying a firearm described as having black handles and a silver slide. Surveillance video shows the suspect, believed to be in his mid-30s, between 5’8” and 6 feet tall, with a short beard. He was wearing dark clothing, light-colored shoes, and a light-colored do-rag.

Sheriff Wilson said the suspect pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded cash, while other customers continued shopping nearby, seemingly unaware of the situation. The encounter lasted less than a minute before the suspect fled the scene on foot.

“This case has gone cold, and we’re asking the community for help,” Sheriff Wilson said. “Even a nickname, screen name, or place you’ve seen him could make the difference.”

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. All tips remain anonymous.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333.
