Walker County, GA – Unemployment in Walker County saw a noticeable decline in April, falling to 2.8%, down from 3.3% in March, according to the Georgia Department of Labor. The drop reflects a strengthening job market in the region, with 915 residents reported as unemployed last month.

Neighboring counties also experienced significant improvements. Dade and Catoosa counties both had unemployment rates of 2.7%.

Chattooga County, while still holding the highest unemployment rate in North Georgia, saw notable progress. Its rate decreased from over 4% in March to 3.4% in April.

The numbers suggest continued recovery and growth across the northwest Georgia region as more residents return to work and employers ramp up hiring efforts.
