Fire Departments from Trion, Summerville and Hays responded to a mobile home fire last night.  The blaze was in the Saddle Club Road area.  No one was home at the time of the fire.  Firefighters were able to rescue the homeowner’s dog and put out the fire.  The fire remains under investigation.
Early voting in Georgia continues until tomorrow.  The polls are open from 8am to 5pm.  You can vote in person in Rock Spring at GNTC.  Also at the Rossville Civic Center, Chickamauga Civic Center and the Lookout Mountain City Hall.  The satellite locations are in addition to the courthouse in LaFayette.  Election day is Tuesday.
Four felony arrests Tuesday in Walker County.  Among those arrested, 34-year-old Steven Paul Sanchez was charged with robbery, criminal trespass, simple battery and failure to appear.  31-year-old James Kevin Durham was booked on several charges including terroristic threats, simple assault, single battery, damage to business and criminal damage to property.  50-year-old Jonathan Mark Abbott was booked on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and terroristic threats.
Elite 8 softball from Columbus yesterday, Heritage beat LaFayette 10-0.  The Ramblers will play again at 5pm today.  LaFayette will face Lagrange.  It’s a double elimination tournament.  Other softball action from yesterday, Gordon Lee defeated Social Circle 11-3.  Gordon Lee faces Breman this afternoon at 1pm.  In 2-A, Union County beat Sonoraville 2-1.  Sonoraville will face Rockmart today at 5pm.
