William “Bill” Luther Newton, age 91, of LaFayette passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
He worked as an electrical engineer for 37 years before retiring.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret Cantrell Newton; daughter, Jill (Douglas) Wells; son, Kevin Newton; grandchildren, Avery Wells, Clayton Wells, and Madison Newton; great-granddaughter, Adalyn Grace Chacon; sister, Betty (Roy) Green; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 4686 W Armuchee Rd, Summerville, GA 30747. Pastor Sharon Coley and Rev. David Autry officiating.
Interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Wells, Clayton Wells, Rudy Yother, Chris Bohannon, Shawn Keeter, Kevin Niemi, Avery Wells, and Madison Newton.
A visitation will be held beginning at 2:00 pm on Saturday until the hour of service at the church.
Bill was a longtime Mustang enthusiast, and the family encourages those who own one to drive it to the celebration of life in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pleasant Hill’s food ministry.
