August 2, 1945 ~ July 5, 2023
Ada Steele Flury, 77, of the Fairview Community in Rossville passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Johnnie Steele and Sallie Crowell Steele in Marion County and attended Marion County High School. She played basketball and was a cheerleader. After high school she attended dental hygienist school. She worked for Dr. Oscar Scruggs as a Dental Hygienist and later became the office manager of the dental practice until her retirement.
Ada was of the Baptist faith. The last 10 years of her life she cared for her late husband Doug who died in February of 2023.
In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Doug Flury, who was the love of her life. Her brother, James Manson Steele; sisters, Mytle Vanderfriff Kinsey and Ruby Steele Adams; sister in law, Becky Flury Johnson; sister in law and best friend, Frances Steele.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Doug Flury,II; brothers, Charlie and Scotty Steele; sister, Jane (Roger) Hobbs; sister in law, Jackie Flury Farrar; many nieces and nephews.
Ada was a kidney transplant recipient of 30 years and a breast cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, 931 McCallie Ave Chattanooga, TN 37403.

A private graveside service for Ada will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Jasper, TN with the Rev. Roger Hobbs officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 8th from 5-7pm at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel, Rossville, GA.
