Albert Eugene HutchersonRock Spring, GA

He was born June 18, 1943 to the late Robert Bruce and Ida Ree Hutcherson. Albert had lived in Rock Spring since 2003 and in Columbus for 43 years prior. He was a member of Peavine Baptist Church where he was a co-ed member of Sunday school. Albert served in the Army for 3 years and the Navy for 12 years. He worked for the Department of Defense for 22 years at Fort Benning. He was a licensed minister in the state of Georgia and a Deacon, Choir Director, and Youth Director at Glenn Anthony Baptist Church in Columbus.

Albert was preceded in death by brother John “Jack” Hutcherson and sisters Ina Ree Neill and Patsy Carr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Sharon Hutcherson, children Wanda Sloan (Thom) of Knoxville, TN, Greg Hutcherson, Pamela Babaa (J.B.) of Grandbury, TX, Paul D. Wheeler (Debbie) of Hixson, TN, and Christopher Wheeler (Julie) of Ringgold, brother Robert Bruce Hutcherson, III (Paula) of Sontag, MS, sister, Winnie Boyles of Monticello, Mississippi; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremy Elam officiating. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
