Amileen “Bolly” Brooks, age 89, resident of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Mrs. Brooks, daughter of the late Dewey Ebenezer McWhorter and Callie Mae Johnson McWhorter, was born June 27, 1936 in Buchanan, Georgia. She was a longtime member of Boynton Baptist Church and retired from Candlewick Yarns where she faithfully worked for over 40 years. Mrs. Brooks enjoyed gardening (known as the original country detective to her family); traveling, particularly to Pigeon Forge; and going to yard sales. While at home, she looked forward to cooking for her family on Sunday evenings; listening to Southern Gospel music; and listening to Elvis (an avid Elvis fan). The family remembers her as a kindhearted lady who was always willing to help anyone; made sure everyone in her family was fed; and one who loved her family immensely.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F.E. “Gene” Brooks; two sons, William Cary Brooks and Jeffrey Lynn Brooks; three sisters, Gwenelle Brazier, Glennda Faye Martin, and Carolyn Ann Cox; two brothers, Dewey Euzelle McWhorter and Jeremiah McWhorter; son-in-law, Rick Broome.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Bob) White and Kathy Broome; two sons, Robbie (Kim) Brooks and Clyde Allen Brooks; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for both Amileen Brooks and Jeremiah McWhorter are scheduled at the Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, 443 Boynton Drive, Ringgold, Georgia on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Keith McLeod and Pastor Zach Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment for Amileen Brooks will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The families of Amileen and Jeremiah will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, 443 Boynton Drive, Ringgold, Georgi
