September 22, 1941 ~ July 3, 2023
Barbara Ann Stamey Lee, 81, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 3, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 22, 1941 in Corinth, Mississippi and has lived in the Chattanooga/North Georgia area for 31 years coming from Lake Worth, Florida. She was the owner and operator of Granny’s Country Cookin for 14 ½ years. She had worked at Henig Fur Company and was owner of G&B Trucking in Homestead, FL. Barbara was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Carrie Strickland; 1st husband, Thurman Eugene Stamey and brother, Norval Strickland.
Survivors include her loving husband Larry Lebron Lee; daughters, Betty Stamey, of Ringgold, Debi Stamey, of St. Augustine, FL, Patricia Ann Sager, of St. Augustine, FL, Eugenia Marie Carl, of Ringgold and Beverly Phillips, of St. Augustine, FL; step-sons, Michael (Karla) Lee, Brent (Kristy) Lee and Brian (Shea) Lee; brothers, Wayne Strickland, Ricky (Renee) Strickland, Robert “Luco” (Vicky) Strickland; sisters, Doris Lynn, Martha Gail “Lulu” (Eddie) Hall; 28 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and her two fur babies, Rusty and Lucas.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Seth Lee and Rev. Ricky Strickland officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MaryEllen Locher Breast Cancer Foundation.
