Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Coyne
August 18, 1938 - September 18, 2025

Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Coyne, 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025. She was born to the late Thomas and Alice Quinn in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bobbie was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and cherished her Baptist faith. She dedicated many years to the Hamilton County school system, where she managed the school cafeteria with care and kindness. She genuinely loved all her students, enjoyed spending quality time with them, and was cherished by many. Bobbie was a strong and loving matriarch, not only to her family but also to her community. She was an incredible mother and a caring mother figure to many. Her love for young people shone through in her active involvement in their lives; she was always there at sports events, rooting loudly and proudly. A passionate fan of baseball and softball, she loved cheering for her Atlanta Braves. Bobbie was a truly sweet and kind-hearted person whose love for her family was limitless. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Randolph Coyne; her parents, Thomas and Alice Gertrude Quinn; her children, John Pell, Delta Bowers, Glenda McCloud, and Franklin Coyne; and all of her siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Geraldine (Carlos) Prettelt of St. Amant, Louisiana, Debra (Larry) Anglin of Niceville, Florida, Linda (Thomas) Womack of Rossville, Georgia, Randy Coyne of East Ridge, Tennessee, and Sherri Coyne of Ringgold, Georgia; three step-children, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
