Barbara J. Bullard, 80, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. She was born to the late Alfred and Linnie York in Ider, Alabama. In 1962, Barbara married the love of her life, Jim Bullard. She was fortunate to have been a stay-at-home mom while working as an interior decorator and making custom drapes. During those years, she served as president of the PTA and team mom for various sports in which her children were involved. Once her children were raised, Barbara owned several women’s clothing stores. She was a fashionista! Finishing her career, she owned and managed a small RV park on the Tennessee River. Barbara enjoyed family, spending time by the water, and traveling. Later, she started painting and was considered a natural artist. She loved watching game shows and Sunday church services. Barbara had a strong belief and love for our Lord.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Linnie York; brother, Don York; and husband, Jim Bullard.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cary (Kim) Bullard and Carla (Randall) Bullard Cochran, and grandchildren, Trey Thomson and Cole (Domi) Thomson.
The family has arranged a time to remember and honor Barbara. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Visitation in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home—Chickamauga Chapel, 215 Lee Ave., Chickamauga, Georgia 30707, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The family appreciates your prayers and support during this difficult time.
