Barbara Jean Johnson Brackett, age 76, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2025. A lifelong resident of North Georgia, Barbara was of the Christian faith. She retired from Hamilton Medical Center after 32 years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling. Barbara was a natural care giver and loved taking care of her children and husband. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Johnson and Deloris May Reagle and her two brothers, Johnny and Robert Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Gary Brackett; her children, Tresia (Larry) Ockey, Brian (Tabatha) Brackett, David (Renee) Brackett, Melinda (Steve) Hoyt; her brother, Ricky Johnson; Grandchildren, Matt, Sarah, Erica, Alexis, Mason, Cole, William, Lucas, Sophia, Desiree, and Madelyn, as well as many great grandchildren and close friend, Linda Patrick.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. until funeral service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, with Pastor Joe Sellers officiating in the Wallis – Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes in Ringgold, Georgia.
