Betty Jean Chambers Woodall, 82, of Flintstone, passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2025. Born in Virginia, Betty spent most of her life in the Flintstone area, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and service to others. A longtime member of South Rossville Baptist Church, Betty also dedicated over 30 years to education as a teacher in the Walker County School System. She was known for her selflessness, always putting the needs of her family before her own. Her kindness, quiet strength, and deep love for those around her left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Chambers; her brother, Paul Chambers; sister-in-law, Pat Chambers; and nephew, Jacob Chambers.
Betty is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Woodall; her children, Alison (David) Rodriguez and William (Carman) Woodall; stepchildren, Phillip Woodall and Gary (Susan) Woodall; and grandchildren, Kassidy Rodriguez, Peyton Rodriguez, Jonathan Woodall, Isaac Woodall, and Olivia Woodall. She is also survived by her brother, David Chambers; sister-in-law, April Chambers; as well as several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family also extends their heartfelt thanks to Hearth Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Ascalon Cemetery on Lookout Mountain, Georgia, with Rev. Joe Callahan and Bro. David Rodriguez officiating.
