Betty Louise ChappelearChickamauga, GA

Betty Blevins Chappelear, 79, of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 29, 2023. She was born June 5, 1943 to the late Clifford Charles and Louise Blevins. Betty has lived in the North Georgia area for the past 60 years and was of the Baptist faith. She was a substitute teacher for Walker County schools for 22 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She was known as a prayer warrior to her family and friends who never wavered in her beliefs.

Betty was preceded in death by sisters Alice Rector and Carolyn Godfrey and brothers William Blevins and Glenn Blevins.

Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, James Chappelear, daughter Pamela (Greg) Smith of Louisville, KY sons James (Lacina) Chappelear, Jr. of Bryant, AL, Mark (Tracey) Chappelear of Chickamauga, Josh (Beth) Chappelear of Rock Spring, brothers Russell (Darlene) Blevins, Charles Blevins, James Michael Blevins, Tony (Linda) Blevins, sister Tricia (Steve) Kirkpatrick, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 12 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Smith officiating. Interment will be in Lafayette Green Hills Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends 4-8 PM Thursday and 10-12 PM Friday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
