Carolyn Alice O’NealChickamauga, GA

Carolyn Alice Plemons O’Neal age 87, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with The Lord Monday, August 26, 2024. She was born in Rockwood, Tennessee to the late Thomas Allen and Rosa Bell Moore Plemons. She had resided most of her life in the Chickamauga area and a proud graduate of Gordon Lee High School, Class of 1955 where she was a member of the Key Club. She had worked as a machine operator for E.T. Barwick Mills and had also worked in the lunchroom at Chickamauga Elementary for several years. Carolyn was a Christian, she was a current member of Grace Baptist Church in Rock Spring, Georgia and had been attending Bethany Baptist Church in Chickamauga for the past several years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Andrew “Beaver” O’Neal, grandson: Jonathon Lance Henson, great-great-grandson: Brantley Kendrick, sisters: Ruth Humphrey, Faye Kiser, Frances Corey, brothers: Tom and Harold Plemons. She is survived by her children: Karen (Terry) Ellison, Tina (Ben) Henson, Rev. Chris (Kathy) O’Neal all of Chickamauga, GA, grandchildren: Stacey Adams, Corey (Audrey) Ellison, Ashley (Kevin) Tucker, Justin, Cayden and Lilly O’Neal, great-grandchildren: Waylan, Cassie, Jack, Sam, Abigail, Kamden, Andrew Lance and Aubrey, great-great-granddaughter: Ansleigh, several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at The Memory Care Center at the Canopy, Heartlite Hospice and especially Marcie Griffith for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Thursday morning from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Bethany Baptist Church with her favorite preacher: Reverend Chris O’Neal officiating. Entombment will follow at LaFayette Memory Gardens in LaFayette, GA. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Homes – J. Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga, Georgia.
