Carolyn Sue Stephens, age 84 of Ringgold Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Carolyn was born on May 14, 1941, in Cherokee Alabama. Carolyn lived most of her life in and around Chattanooga and was a faithful member of Pisgah Baptist Church. She was retired after forty plus years as jeweler and enjoyed flower gardening.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years DeWayne Stephens; her parents Carlyle and Jewell Wood Hansard; her sister, Vivian Law and brother, Harold C. Hansard.
She is survived by her step daughter, Beverly Stephens Allen (Tom); grandchildren, Hannah Allen Kunkel (Zach) and Sarah Allen Gallagher (Devin); great grandchildren, Ellis & Parks Kunkel and Shepherd Gallagher; step daughter, Connie Stephens Johnson (Randy); grandchildren, Faith Johnson Cagle (Brent), Autumn, Aubree and Brayden Cagle, Jessica Johnson Johnston (Cory), Raylee, Harper and Ellie Jo Johnston, Mariah Johnson Ward (Daniel), Ana, Elaina, and Georgia Ward; her sisters, Margaret Canter (Boyd), Linda Morgan (Dewey); her brothers, Arnold Hansard (Dorothy) and Ricky Hansard (Jean), special nieces, Regina Steele and Starla Hansard, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the service at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Henson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
