Catherine “Cathy” Martin Gadd, passed away on August 30, 2024 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Cathy is survived by her husband, of 24 years, Roy Gadd; daughter, Lisa Porter; grandchild, Mia Porter; step children, Emily (Charlie) Brooks and Sam Gadd; and grandchild, Lily Brooks.
Cathy was a proud Navy Veteran, serving six years in Guam, before coming stateside and working for the National Security Agency.
Cathy loved Chickamauga and living here, she would often say “Why would anyone want to live elsewhere?” While working with Roy on various church history projects, it only deepened her love for the town, church, and its residents.
Cathy loved the beach and ocean, her favorite spot was Daytona Beach, where you can drive on the beach and get the feel of “Old Florida.”
Cathy was a member of Elizabeth Lee Methodist church, active in many areas of ministry, especially the Sunday Schol Department, the Handbell Choir, and keeping track of the history of Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church, with Min. Zach Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Chickamauga City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the service time at the church.
