James Cecil Lowry, 83, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 15, 2023.  Cecil was born January 12, 1940 in Hogansville, GA, to the late JW and Beatrice Lowry.  He was a resident of Chattanooga for over 60 years and was a member of East Ridge Church of Christ where he served as a deacon.  Cecil worked as a mechanical engineer for Combustion Engineering and Westinghouse Electric where he retired after 42 years of service.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Allene Lowry, sons Bobby (Nicole) Lowry, of Harrison, TN, and John (Marisa) Lowry of Collinsville, IL, brother, Charles (Geneta) Lowry, of Ormond Beach, FL, and grandchildren, Jada and Jared Lowry, and Thalia Diaz.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Cecil will take place 1 PM, Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with minister Charles Cochran officiating.
