Celotis “Sonny” Presley Gordy age 79, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. He was born in Ringgold, Georgia to the late Roy Gordy and Susie Williams Gordy. Sonny was of the Baptist faith and resided most of his life in Chickamauga, Georgia. He was an avid car collector and enjoyed spending time working on cars and lawnmowers. Sonnys most cherished time was spent with his family and friends.
Along with his parents, Sonny is preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Reynolds; sisters, Geniva Songer and Lois Kernea; brothers, Herbert Gordy and Larry Gordy and nephew, Scott Gordy.
He is survived by his children, Patricia (David) King, Michelle Fields, Tony Gordy; the mother of his children, Catherine Dillingham; sister, Juanita Gordy, as well as eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Peavine Baptist Church Cemetery.
