Charlie Watkins, age 94, resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Life Care Center of Collegedale, Tennessee.
Mr. Watkins, son of the late Harry Floyd Watkins and Gladys Buckminister Watkins, was born September 7, 1931, in Miami, Florida. He worked many years in the printing industry before owning and operating OKAY Envelope Printing for over 16 years until his retirement. Mr. Watkins was actively involved in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, both in pathfinder leadership at the Miami Temple Church and as a deacon in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Before moving to the Cleveland, Tennessee area, he volunteered in the early 2000’s until 2018, at Fletcher Hospital in Fletcher, North Carolina. While at home, he always enjoyed reading and watching sports. The family remembers him as a man who enjoyed getting to know and socialize with others.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Bozarth Watkins; a daughter, Brenda Soltoff; and three sisters, Charlotte Bauer, Eileen Goan, and Betty Jean Weller.
Mr. Watkins is survived by one daughter, Monica (Jerry) Simoes of Cleveland, Tennessee; one son, Richard Charles (Roxanne) Watkins of Gainesville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Tonya, Shanna, Loyd, Nicole, Stacey, Stefanie, Ben, and Richie; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Collegedale Memorial Park, 4939 College Drive East, Collegedale, Tennessee, at a later date to be announced.
