January 27, 1993 - March 13, 2023
Christopher Aubrey Wilson, 30, made his departing voyage from this earth on Monday the 13th of March 2023 at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California.
He was born on January 27, 1993 at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He received his High School matriculation through the Technical College System of Georgia, and continued his education in mechanical drafting through Gwinnett Technical College. In December of 2018, Christopher stepped on the prints at Parris Island in South Carolina and became a United States Marine. He ranked Lance Corporal as an 0311 Rifleman with the 2nd Battalion 5th Marines 1st Marine Division. During his enlistment, he met and fell in love with Hayleigh Houston, and on December 1st made her his wife, marrying her in McKinney, Texas.
Christopher had a kind and gentle disposition making several friends while working at Fernando’s in Dacula, Georgia. He enjoyed going to Renaissance Festivals, playing video games, and participating in airsoft events with his brother. He loved music, good food, and spending time with close friends and family. His aspirations were to pursue a certificate in Gunsmithing, and to find and establish a home in Colorado for himself and Hayleigh after their military commitments were completed.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Dwight Wilson in December 31, 2022, with whom he loved and shared a close relationship.
Christopher is survived by his wife, Hayleigh Houston Wilson of Oceanside, California; his mother, Kellie Yvonne Davis Wilson of Raleigh, North Carolina; his father, Timothy Dwight Wilson and stepmother Brikena Doci Wilson; brother, Ilir Aleksandr Wilson of Rockwall, Texas; his sister, Rachel Elizabeth Wilson-Cantaffa and brother-in-law Zach Thomas Cantaffa of Burlington, North Carolina. He is also survived by his nephew, Aidan Jedidiah Cantaffa; niece, Aubrielle Lilas Cantaffa, and nephew Bentley Knoxx Cantaffa, as well as his maternal grandparents, Roger and Carolyn Davis of Burlington, North Carolina; his paternal grandmother, Lilas Jeanette Wilson of Ringgold, Georgia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in the funeral home chapel.
