Clara “Faye” Ware
May 19, 1937 - March 9, 2024
Faye’s father Ross Andrew Allen and mother Flora Lee Farlett Allen preceded her in death as did her husband Willard Nevon Ware, her brother RL Allen, and her sister Bertie Mae Allen Orr. Faye was of the Baptist Faith, and a longtime member of The First Baptist Church of Ringgold.
Faye is survived by three sons — Wesley, Douglas (Tina), and Stephen (Terri) Ware, as well as her grandchildren Abby (Nick) Bradshaw and Michael Hensley (Angel Flanagan). Also surviving Faye are her sister Loraine Allen Crook; brothers Ross (Mary Ellen) and Ricky (Dianna) Allen; and several nieces and nephews.
Faye was raised in the small town of Ringgold, Georgia. A bright and outgoing young woman, she held the position of vice-president in her senior class and found her first job at the local theater. Among the first in her family to pursue higher education, she obtained her nursing degree from Piedmont School of Nursing in 1958. Balancing her role as an RN with raising a family, Faye furthered her education, earning certification as a Nurse Practitioner from Emory University. She dedicated herself to public health as a nurse with the State of Georgia, eventually rising to the role of Women's Health Coordinator for District One, serving several North Georgia counties. Faye retired from nursing in 1993, concluding a fulfilling career of service.
Following her retirement from the State of Georgia, Faye relocated to Scottsdale, AZ, to be closer to her youngest son, Steve. In Scottsdale, she discovered a loving and supportive community at The Gardens, her home for nearly 25 years. Faye relished every dinner invitation, happy hour, and community gathering, fostering cherished memories by the poolside. She loved her neighbors!
After retiring, Faye remained active by taking on part-time work at a behavioral health facility in Scottsdale, embracing the new challenge it offered in the nursing field. Additionally, she dedicated her time to volunteering at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts for several years and contributed her efforts to her condominium community by serving on the HOA.
For many years, Faye delighted in ballroom dancing, attending classes, and participating in showcases. Her love for travel, both domestic and international, blossomed, particularly in her retirement years. She explored destinations such as China, Thailand, Europe, and parts of the Middle East. She also ventured to Canada and Mexico, often opting for cruises to traverse various locales. With her family, she embarked on memorable trips to Seattle, San Diego, Lake Tahoe, New York, Florida, and beyond. Faye loved it all!
Faye cherished family time, particularly with her grandchildren Michael and Abby who affectionately called her Granny Faye. They found in her not just a grandmother but a trusted friend and advocate. She was the matriarch of the family in every sense. She brought the extended family together and was instrumental in creating a tradition of family reunions that have continued for years.
Despite being the mother of sons, Faye shared a special bond with her nieces, who admired and drew inspiration from her. One niece recently remarked, "Aunt Faye was always so full of life; I viewed her as a role model." Another expressed, "I could always talk to Aunt Faye; she was like a second mom." Faye's nurturing presence extended beyond her immediate family, leaving a lasting impact on those she held dear.
