Clarence Alvin Allison
October 29, 1930 ~ July 29, 2023

1st Sgt. Clarence Alvin Allison went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on the 29th day of July, 2023. Mr. Allison was born on the 29th day of October 1930. Clarence was a graduate of Central High School, Chattanooga, TN, class of 1948. He retired from the Army and National Guard, 1948-1970. Clarence also retired as a roofing, siding, and home building contractor.

Clarence was an avid and accomplished golfer and member of the American Legion Post #95 in East Ridge, TN. He was a long time member of the Ooltewah Baptist Church and presently a member of the First Baptist Church, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, where he was also a member of the Builders Sunday School Class.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Tom Allison; brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Margaret Allison; sister, Dorothy Harris; brother-in-law, Paul Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Donna Allison; and his best friend and business partner, John Crum.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jo Coker Allison; daughter, Terry Allison (Ed) Rappuhn; grandchildren, Allison (Jacob) Beck and Andrew (Jamie Zakalik) Rappuhn; sisters, Betty Davis, Virginia Wyatt, and Teresa Burt; brothers: Jim Allison, Parker Allison, Joe (Delilah) Allison, Randy Allison, and David Allison; brother-in-law, Charles Harris; great grandchildren, Thaddeus and Sophie Beck.

Extended family members include his son, Randy (Pat) Coker; grandson, Joshua (Erin) Coker; granddaughter, Amber (Andrew) Lowe; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023 from 11am until the funeral hour at 12pm in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jason Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
