April 5, 1955 - August 15, 2025
Daniel "Danny" Hawkins Cleveland, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 15, 2025.
Born in Miami, Florida, to the late William Frances Cleveland Jr. and Violet Madge Hawkins Cleveland, Danny lived a life marked by faith, family, and adventure. He relocated to the Chattanooga area in 1996 after marrying the love of his life, Mary Ann Cleveland, and became a devoted member of South Seminole Baptist Church.
Danny retired in 2020 following more than 15 years of dedicated service with Ready Mix USA. Known as a true southern gentleman, he was deeply rooted in his Christian faith and lived with a zest for life. Whether drag racing Kawasaki motorcycles, exploring trails on dirt bikes, or casting a line in saltwater, Danny embraced every moment with enthusiasm. He was an avid fan of NHRA racing and cherished the comforts of home cooking.
In his youth, Danny was active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and he played a vital role in his family's flower and gardening business—an interest he carried throughout his life. His love for animals, especially dogs, led him to his cherished emotional support companion, Bandit.
Danny was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for his warmth, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Frank Cleveland.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 29 years, Mary Ann Cleveland; sister, Christine (Rodney) Reece; brother-in-law, Daryl Tyus; and dear friends Bob and Shelby Solomon, Johnathon and Alexis Solomon, and Jessica Solomon.
