David Benjamin “Ben” WardFort Oglethorpe

David Benjamin “Ben” Ward, Jr., 74, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Ben was born to the late David and Frances Ward in Ironton, Missouri. Ben moved from Missouri to the Northwest Georgia area, and he and Tamara have made their home here for the last forty-seven years. He was a member of Rock Pointe Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and was a big Georgia Bulldogs football fan. In his earlier years, Ben enjoyed fishing, repairing things for his family and friends, and doing metal work. He was a great handyman and always enjoyed helping people in any way he could. Ben's contributions to the community were significant, as he served as an assistant chaplain for the Whitfield County Jail, volunteered at Chattanooga Prison Ministries, Animal Disaster Relief, and served on the security team at his home church. Ben was a jokester and loved to have a good time. He dearly loved his family. Ben was a loving, kind-hearted person and will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, David Benjamin and Frances Dalton Ward, and his brother, Gerard “Jerry” Franklin Ward.
