David Joe Garren age 70, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to meet his Lord and Master on Friday, January 5, 2024. His wife of nearly 49 years, Cheri Daffron Garren, was at his bedside. He was the son of Joe Dean and Alma Ruth Short Garren of Dayton, TN. He leaves behind a son: Matthew A. Sylar and daughter-in-law: Rebekah Pippin Sylar, his beloved grandson: David Allen Mathis Sylar, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a graduate of Red Bank High School. He went to Memphis State to study broadcasting and always worked in the Tennessee and Georgia areas. He was a Georgia Bulldawgs fan, he loved to hunt and fish with all his friends. He was a member of Tompkins Masonic Lodge #466 F&AM in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Dave's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday - January 20, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Homes - Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold, Georgia. The family will have a graveside service at a later date.
