David Thomas Trimby
October 18, 1957 - February 28, 2026
David “Catfish, Cat Daddy” Thomas Trimby age 68, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 28, 2026. A lifelong resident of Ringgold, David was saved and baptized at Ringgold First Baptist Church as a young age. Also in his early years, he trained horses and drag raced.
David had a love for racing. He began with drag racing before getting involved with dirt track and asphalt racing. An incredible mechanic, David built many racecars while working with Rick Coulter Racing. While working with Rick Coulter Racing he earned the spot of crew chief in the NASCAR late model series.
After leaving the racing behind, David began working for Broome’s Wrecker service for over twenty five years before retiring in 2023.
David is preceded in his death by his mother, Adrienne Trimby
He is survived by his children, Melinda Trimby (Dean Barron), Nathaniel (Heather) Trimby; his father, William “Bill” Trimby; siblings, Mike (Renee) Trimby, Trisha (Johnny) White; grandchildren, Drake (Hannah) Dodd, Kaylor Cumbee, Hannah Barron, Andy Barron, Bryar Barron, Klyne Barron, and Maddox Barron; nieces and nephews, Jason White, Molly Beaher, Justin White, Jordan White, Daniel Trimby and Chad Trimby, close friends, Buddy Broome, Jeremy Broome, Alicia Broome, Rick and Katie Coulter, Kathie Coulter, Chris and Kelli Whorton, and JR, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
