Debbie “Deb” AbercrombieRossville

Debbie “Deb” Abercrombie, age 69, resident of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at CHI Memorial Hospital, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Debbie, daughter of the late Robert Nichols and Thelma Geneva Porter Nichols, was born December 23, 1955 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was Baptist by faith and retired from Shaw Industries where she faithfully worked for over 30 years. Debbie enjoyed traveling with her husband to various places, particularly casinos. She also enjoyed fishing and camping. While at home, she would be seen doing arts and crafts, watching classic western and paranormal shows, and listening to country music. The family remembers her as a lady who loved big, and one who “told it like it was, and if you didn’t like it – kick rocks.”
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Abercrombie; daughter, Sue Ellen; and three brothers, Jerry Nichols, Kenneth Nichols, and James Nichols.
Debbie is survived by one daughter, Sabrina Gail (Anthony) Evans-Perez; two sons, Mike (Deanna) Stone, II, and Kenneth Ray Sheffey; one sister, Betty Nichols Rogers; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her beloved dog and grand-dog, Smokey and Bella; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. and also prior to the service on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 12 noon till 2 p.m.
