Donald “Donnie” Walker, Sr., 71, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Friday, August 18, 2023, at a local hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Donnie had lived most of his life in Walker County where he was a 1970 graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School. Following graduation Donnie received an associate degree from Walker Tech. Donnie had lived in Jasper, TN, and the past three years he and his wife has lived in Punta Gorda, FL. He retired in 2003 as a Distribution Supervisor with Tennessee American Water Company with over 30 years of service. While living in Punta Gorda he was a member of the American Legion. Donnie loved his family dearly and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved trading and restoring cars and his favorite was a 1940 Ford. Donnie never met a stranger, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Mary Walker; and brother, Ronnie Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Gallahan Walker; son, Donald “Little Don” Walker, Jr. (Amanda); two stepchildren, Gary McAmis and Gerri Quarles; sister, Teresa Howard; five grandchildren, Logan, Blake, and Kyndal Walker, Sky Atkins and Harrison Quarles; and nephew, Mickey Howard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 10:00a.m. in the south Crest Chapel with Pastor Terry Burns officiating.
Interment will follow in the TN-GA Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
