Doris Lucille Gurley, of East Ridge went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1928 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Willard and Wilma Holcomb Gann and lived most of her life in East Ridge. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church and had retired from Giant Foods of America.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gurley.

Survivors include her son, Charles Gurley; sisters, Sarah Robinson and Pat Stout; brothers, James and Murphy Gann; grandchildren, Margaret Carr; two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Helton officiating.Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Howington, Brian Carr, Cameron Carr, David Henson, Steve Stout and Forrest Bates.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkw
