Doris Mae Cooper Bowman, 73 of Chickamauga Ga went to be with The Lord on May 14, 2025. She spent her lifetime in Chickamauga. Doris was a mother hen and loved everyone. Doris raised many children, not just her own. Doris loved serving The Lord, and is a member at New Hope Baptist Church in Rossville. She loved her children, grandchildren, and also adored her pups.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Carl W. Bowman, parents Granville & Ola James Cooper; children Craig Bowman, Carla Bowman; grandson Devon Bowman; and siblings, Patricia Wofford, Terry Cooper, and James Cooper.

Doris is survived by her two children Mark (Kim) Bowman, Jeff (Charity) Bowman; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday May 19, 2025 in the parlor of the funeral home; and before the service on Tuesday. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with son Mark Bowman, and Pastor Chris Paradise officiating. A burial will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville.
