May 1, 1942 - February 16, 2026
Douglas McArthur Stoker, 83, of Kensington, Georgia, peacefully passed away in his home on Monday, February 16, 2026. Born in Kensington, Georgia, he was the beloved son of the late Oscar Lee and Thelma Marie Stoker, and he spent his entire life in the beautiful Northwest Georgia area. Mac found happiness outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, riding ATVs, gardening, and hiking with his cherished dog, Little Bit. He was a proud member of the North Georgia Sportsman Club, loved watching exciting NASCAR races, and took special joy in canning with his granddaughters. Many hours could be spent in his shop, where he delighted in admiring his “treasure!” Most of all, Mac was a loving family man—an exceptional husband, father, and the “best” papaw who cherished his loved ones deeply. His kindness and warmth touched everyone he met, and he will be truly missed by all.
Mac was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Faye Stoker; his parents, Oscar Lee and Thelma Marie Stoker; his sister, Evelyn “Red” Sampson; his brothers, Donald “Duck” Stoker, Billy Stoker, Jerry H. Stoker, James “Bub” Stoker; and his best friend, Leland “Scratch” Davenport.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Bobby Stoker of Rossville, Georgia, and Kimberly Minshew of Kensington, Georgia; his sisters, Martha “Vonnie” Reece of Birchwood, Tennessee, Beverly Donahoo of Columbia, Tennessee, Rita Stoker Daniel of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Charlotte “Tootie” Wyatt of Brainerd, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Miranda Angle, Hannah Minshew, Caleb Minshew, and Nolan Stoker; and several nieces and nephews.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join us in remembering and honoring Mac on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, February 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held following the visitation at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026. After the service, we will proceed to Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, 724 Hogan Road, Rossville, Georgia, for the burial. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
