Elfriede Ruth Scholer Harwart

Elfriede Ruth Schöler Harwart, age 91, of Flintstone, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born and raised in Danzig, Germany until 1955, when she moved to the United States of America. After moving to the States, she resided in Hopkins, Minnesota where she raised her family. In 2001, Elfriede moved to Wisconsin until this year when she moved to Flintstone with her son, Paul. While in Wisconsin she was a member of Maranatha Evangelical Free Church in Rice Lake.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Friedrich Otto Schöler and Lina Berta Rohr Schöler; husbands, Felix Harwart, Donald Gardner, and Daniel Schroeder; and brother, Karl Heinz Schöler.
She is survived by her sister Ingelore (Dale Smith), Leavenworth, Kansas; children: son, Paul (Lorilee) Harwart of Flintstone, Georgia; daughters, Elizabeth (Joe) Walsh of Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, Barbara Harwart of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Heidi (Terry) Greenlee of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Sam (Mary Kate) Harwart of Chickamauga, GA, Renee (Chris) Free of Flintstone, GA, Joshua (Megan) Harwart of Ringgold, GA, Danny Harwart of USAF, Alaska, Amy (Oscar) Castrillon of Pereira, Columbia, Sara (Colin) Beauchamp of Rincon, GA, Max (Sarah) Schloner of Brooklyn, NY, Ariel (David) Schloner of Hudson, NH, Eli (Kari) Schloner of Jacksonville, FL, Amber (Chad) Myers of Dover, MN, Lina (Ben) Vazquez of Ocoee, FL, Shelby (Esmider) Antoine of Apopka, FL; great grandchildren, Jonathan, McKenzie, Penelope, Scarlet, Benjamin, Elijah, Chloe, Blakely, Lincoln, Theodore, Isla, Elodie, Isabela, Antonella, Calvin, Hadley, Charlotte, Cale, Garrett, Jacob, Damien, Joseph, Khyleena, Kiamora, Elijah, Leianah, and Nova. Elfriede was a Christian woman of prayer. She openly shared her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal savior and encouraged others to believe in God.
The family wants to express sincere thanks for the loving care and support provided by Morning Pointe in Happy Valley staff and residents; as well as the Tapestry Hospice staff.
A memorial service is scheduled at Morning Pointe in Happy Valley on December 27, 2024 at 1:30 pm. Elfriede’s ashes will be interned in Minnesota, with her first husband’s remains, in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, per Elfriede’s request.
