Ella Katie Smith

Ella Katie Smith, 87, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on May 5, 1936 to the late Leroy & Elizabeth Hinkle Smith and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. She was of the Baptist faith and graduated from Red Bank High School Class of 1954. She retired from Redfood / Bi-Lo after many years of service and was employed with Interstate Life and Accident Insurance Company for more than 20 years. She was also employed with Sears and worked in the Home Healthcare industry for the elderly for many years. She was a true workaholic and was always putting others needs before her own. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David Leroy Smith and grandparents, Shade & Ella Hinkle.

Survivors include her son, Scott Smith; brother & sister-in-law, Grady & (Patricia Sue) Smith; close friend, Charles D. Lawson; and numerous extended family & friends.
