Emmett Aaron Smith, age 76, of LaFayette passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John France Smith and Roberteen Martin Smith; sisters, Frances “Sis” Parker, Martha Millican, and Shelby and Mary Smith; brothers, James, John, Ray, Robert, and Mark Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patsy McNeese Smith; children, Lynn (Todd) Wright, Terri (Bobby) Miolen Jr., Ron and his wife Rachel Smith, Jaylei Smith, Jesse Smith, and Anna Smith; grandchildren, Greg and his wife Taylor Wright, Patrick and his wife Lucky Miolen, AJ and his wife Nikki Smith, Reba and her husband Justin Cargle; great grandchildren Haydin and Brysen Wright, Caroline and Olivia Miolen, Kynlee Smith, Brantley Crabtree, Harper, Brody and Hannah Cargle; sisters, Peggy Farner, Charlotte and her husband Wendall Hamilton, and Carol and her husband James Dodson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Charles Lee and Bill Thornton officiating.
Interment will be held at Concord Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Gregory Wright, Patrick Miolen, AJ Smith, Jesse Smith, Lee Parker, and Scott Hobbs.
Honorary pallbearers are James Painter and Levi Franklin.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
