Finch O’Daye Trammell
July 16, 1960 - September 7, 2025

Finch O’Daye Trammell, legally known as Finch Trammell-Gerow and affectionately called Jo Trammell by those closest to her, passed away on September 7, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the age of 65. She was born on July 16, 1960, in Rome, Georgia, to the late Walter Lee Trammell and Delores Driver Trammell.
Finch is survived by her siblings Walter C. Trammell, Constance Trammell, Orpheus Trammell, and Artimus Trammell, along with her paternal half-siblings Thea Trammell, Mark Trammell, and Victor Trammell. She was a devoted and loving aunt to Kaleena Person, formerly Trammell, Keisha Trammell, Kyle Trammell, Walter Trammell, Taylor Trammell, Zachary Trammell, and Kaitlyn Trammell, each of whom she cherished deeply.
She was previously married to Sean Gerow, and though long divorced, she continued to use his surname for the remainder of her life. Finch’s life was also enriched by an extended circle of relatives and dear friends who became like family.
Finch was a versatile professional with experience across multiple sectors, working in a variety of industries over the years. She served as an Executive Administrative Assistant, Office Assistant, and Supply/Inventory/Warehouse Worker, bringing strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a keen attention to detail to each role. She was also the family’s historian, carefully curating the family tree and preserving their legacy.
She loved life’s simple joys: tending her plants, spending time with her beloved dog “Three,” enjoying a cold beer, and dancing whenever the music called. An avid reader with a passion for history, research, and world news, she was also a gifted musician who played three instruments. Outgoing, outspoken, independent, and determined, Finch often said, “We learn something new every day,” and lived her life by that principle.
Her greatest joy was living life to the fullest. She had a gift for uplifting those around her, bringing energy and light wherever she went, and always finding ways to make each situation better. Finch saw the world as a playground, full of opportunities for joy, discovery, and connection, and she believed that love could be found in every circumstance.
A private family service will be held at a later date to honor Finch’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the American Lung Cancer Association or the Lafayette Senior Center in Lafayette, Georgia.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to Finch’s happiness and stability throughout her life. May God repay you tenfold.
