Frances “Fran” Smith, age 75, resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Mrs. Smith, daughter of the late Richard R. Lamiette and Patricia Rice Lamiette, was born February 13, 1950 in Lewiston, Maine. She was Catholic by faith and a legal secretary for over 35 years, retiring from Lucy C. Wright Attorney at Law Firm, Chattanooga, Tennessee. After college, she served as an Adjunct Professor at Chattanooga State Community College. Mrs. Smith enjoyed traveling, particularly to the Smoky Mountains. She also was known as an “avid shopper” to many. While at home, she enjoyed reading, watching classic movies, and listening to many genres of music. The family remembers her as a devoted wife and mother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Reed and the mother that raised her, Bertha Lamiette.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Rick Smith; two sons, Michael (Marcy) Smith and Jeff Smith; one sister, Karen (Tony) Cavallero; three grandchildren, Kyle Matthew (Becca) Smith, Leocadia Smith, and Ethan Michael Smith; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, 443 Boynton Drive, Ringgold, Georgia on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and also prior to the service on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 2 p.m. till 3 p.m.
