Freddie Lee Shaw
June 24, 1934 - November 12, 2025
Freddie Lee Shaw, age 91, resident of Flintstone, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 surrounded by family at Hospice of Chattanooga.
Mr. Shaw, son of the late Roger Hershel Shaw and Mamie Lee Weathers Shaw, was born June 24, 1934 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He retired from Gilman Wall Covering and Paint where he faithfully worked for over 45 years. After retirement, he began another career with Cobb County School System, where he drove a bus for over 13 years. Mr. Shaw attended Wallaceville Church of God. He loved Southern Gospel Music and traveled singing with the Churchmen Quartet. While at home, he enjoyed taking care of his lawn (and also the lawn of many family members and friends). Many would also see him watching classic western shows and movies. He was an Atlanta Baseball and Georgia Football fan. He was completely devoted to his family, and always looked forward to spending quality time with his family, particularly his kids and grandkids.
The family remembers him as a man who was dedicated to being at a place on time (particularly the church) and a Godly man who loved so many. His life was a true reflection of Christ’s love for others and with his servant’s heart – a man who put others needs before his own.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Yvonne Bowling Shaw; a son, Jerry Shaw; sister, Barbara Jean Haynes; and two brothers, Curtis Shaw and Cleve Shaw.
Mr. Shaw is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Steve) Rapier; three sons, Rick (Mary) Shaw, Kenneth (Delores) Shaw, and David (Irie) Shaw; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, 12 noon with Reverend Roger Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens, Powder Springs, Georgia, 3:30 p.m. with Reverend Thomas Blagg officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11 a.m. till 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in the honor of his wife, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.donate.brightfocus.org
