George A. Wilson Jr., 82, of Chickamauga, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Born in Catlett, Georgia, to the late George A. Wilson Sr. and Laura Edith Wall Wilson, George was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and a devoted member of the Church of God faith.
A proud veteran, George served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated over 50 years to the textile industry, retiring from Borg Textile.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, G. Faye Wilson; two sisters; and one brother.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda (Joe) Guffey and Tony (Paula Ann) Wilson; grandchildren, Sarah, Justin, and Hallie; great-grandchildren, Lakelynn, Jude, and Creed; as well as several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Rock Spring Cemetery, with Pastor Justin Gazaway officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday May 31, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home - J .Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga, Georgia from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.. .
