Gladys Wright Henderson, age 84, resident of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at home in Ringgold, Georgia.
Mrs. Henderson, daughter of the late Cleveland Cicero Wright and Beulah Lee Landen Wright, was born June 10, 1941 in Ringgold. She was a 1959 graduate from Ringgold High School. After high school, she owned and operated Elite Hair Salon and later began a career in commercial and residential cleaning where she owned and operated Henderson Cleaning Service for over 45 years. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed taking trips to the beach and mountains. While at home, she enjoyed gardening keeping up her home. She also enjoyed hosting family and friends for cookouts and was well known for her baking skills, particularly her cakes. Mrs. Henderson listened to country music and watched classic shows and movies. Most of all, she always looked forward to spending quality time with her family. The family remembers her as a hardworking and dedicated wife and precious mother – one who enjoyed life with her family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Paul Roy Henderson, Jr.; three sisters, Lois Wright, Betty McAllister, and Marie Wright; one brother, Walter Lee Wright; and one grandson, Kody Henderson.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by one daughter, Paula Compton; three sons, Dale (Jennie) Henderson, Jason (Dawn) Henderson, and Ryan Henderson; seven grandchildren, April Henderson, Seven Compton, Travis (Heather) Henderson, Brittany Henderson, Kaleb (Yesenia) Henderson, Ava Henderson, and Rory Henderson; five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Willow, Micah, Maddox, and Macie; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart, 443 Boynton Drive, Ringgold, Georgia on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, 12 p.m. with Dale Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. and also prior to the funeral home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 11 a.m. till 12 p.m.
