Gloria Fay Hanna, 79, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born to the caring Ovvie and Johnnie Fay Hanna in Laurel, Mississippi. Gloria loved her life in the Chattanooga area and was a Seventh-day Adventist. She was passionate about reading, cooking delicious meals, playing the piano, and sharing her creativity through needlepoint projects and antiquing adventures. But above all, her greatest happiness came from being “Memaw.” She was a loving and cherished Memaw to her family and everyone in the community. Fully devoted to her loved ones, Gloria had a warm heart and a nurturing spirit, always ready to love, lend a hand, and listen and give wise counsel. Her kindness, sweetness, and gentle nature made her truly special, and she will be deeply missed by her family and all who were fortunate to know her.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Ovvie Eric and Johnnie Fay Hanna; son, Kennon Taylor; granddaughter, Madelyn Silmon; brother, Dale Hanna; son-in-law, David Whittemore; and nephews, Johnny, James, and Kevin Hanna.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Felicia, Kristi, Todd Taylor, and Paula (Larry) Silmon; grandchildren, Trey (Tayler), Gloria, Johnna (John), Olivia; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Kingston; brothers, Ronald (Myra) Hanna and Anthony (Leeann) Hanna; sister-in-law, Deloise Hanna; step-grandchildren, Donail, Ashley, LaToya, and Jessica; and many step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family has set aside a heartfelt time to remember and honor Gloria. We would love for friends and family to join us on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for this meaningful gathering. Following that, a funeral service to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Your prayers and support mean a lot to the family during this challenging time.
