Gloria Jean Rawlston, age 81 of Ringgold, went to be with her Lord Sunday August 27, 2023. She was lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter, exceptional cook and enjoyed decorating cakes. She was a retired Technician from Lenscrafters where she was the Gift of Sight Ambassador to Bolivia in the late 1990’s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Benard Rawlston; parents, S.H. and Allie Tapley; sisters, Dorothy Ramones, Ruby McCurry, Willie May Tapley and Ella Ruth Cooper; and brothers, Ray Tapley, Roy Tapley, Doyle Tapley and Leon Tapley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Garry “Mark” (Tina) Rawlston and Andrew Martin Rawlston; ten grandchildren, Alyson (Mario) Hill, Garry (Hallie) Rawlston, Madison (Knox) Edwards, Rebecca Judith Rawlston, Ashley (Isaac) Norton, Elizabeth Rawlston, Jenna Breann Rawlston, Amanda Darlene Parks, Robert Earl Parks Jr., and Stephanie Nicole Parks; nine great-grandchildren, Riley William Hill, Rosemary Wilde Rawlston, Tatum Rys Hill, Eason James Norton, Garry Malcolm Rawlston, Demaree Parks, Azmiyana Parks, Idella Parks, and Coleson Allen Parks; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Thursday August 31, 2023 at the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Service will be 10:00a.m. Friday September 1, 2023 at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
