Harold “Ras” Stoker
August 27, 1928 - February 24, 2026
On February 24, 2026, Harold (Ras) Stoker, age 97, of Cassandra, GA, Surrounded by his loving family, went home to be with the Lord. He is leaving behind a legacy of care, devotion, and community spirit. A devoted family man, Harold was the steadfast caretaker of his loved ones, always putting the needs of his family first and providing guidance, support, and unconditional love throughout his life.
Beyond his family, Harold was a pillar of his community. Known for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need, he quietly and consistently made a difference in the lives of neighbors, friends, and fellow community members. His nurturing spirit extended through acts big and small from offering a listening ear to lending a helping hand. Harold's presence was a comfort to all who knew him.
At a young age he loved to play baseball. This is how he got his nickname "Ras" for being so fast around the bases. He started out working for his father at Stoker Lumber Company. Then he became a skilled & respected home builder in the Chickamauga & Chattanooga Valley communities. His craftsmanship and strong work ethic were evident in every project he touched, and his work will stand for generations as a testament to his dedication.
When he wasn't working, he loved mowing his yard/pines on his Grasshopper, cheering on the
Atlanta Braves, deep sea fishing in FL, & spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by parents Robert & Lillian Stoker, siblings Jake, Vernon, Maxie, AJ, Dewey,
Katherine, and his loving wife of 70 years Shirley Stoker.
Harold is survived & loved by his three children, Freda(Larry)Marks, Barry (Susan) Stoker, &
Tess(Ralph)Hibbs. Forever cherished by his grandchildren, Shelly (Jeff)Brodie Russell, Holly (Joey) Josie Carr, Summer Brackett (Autumn, Owen), Hallie(Tyler)Stansell, Robi(Shannon) Morgan, Garrett, Addi, Easton Yates, Kenny (Brittany) Makenzie, Brayden Stoker, and several great grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at Coulter Cemetery in Chickamauga, GA on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 3pm. Officiating will be by Gene Wilson & Steve Grubbs. Pallbearers are Felix Coulter, John Bell, Jeff Russell, Joey Carr, Lee Hawkins, & Kenny Stoker.
