November 26, 1930 - December 10, 2025
Harry “Kenneth” Shelley, age 95, of Rock Spring, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. He was born in Headland, AL to the late Reuben Shelley and Kate Hamm Shelley and had spent most of his life in South Alabama, before moving to the North Georgia area in 1992. Kenneth faithfully attended the Nazarene Church in Fort Oglethorpe.
A proud veteran, Kenneth retired from the United States Navy after more than 20 years of dedicated service, including active duty during the Vietnam War. He later retired a second time after 20 years of employment with Alabama Aviation and Technical College. Kenneth enjoyed the simple blessings of life—especially fishing and tending to his garden—and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Louise Walden, and his brothers, Raymond Shelley, Rudolph Shelley, and Reuben Shelley Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Peggy Shelley; children, Kenna Harper, Susan Love, and Mark Shelly; sister, Pat (Mike) Bundrick; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Joe Brown and Pastor Terry Burns officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
