Hunter Chase Sweeton
February 13, 1991 - January 17, 2026

Hunter Chase Sweeton, age 34, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. A lifelong resident of North Georgia, Hunter was a 2010 graduate of Lakeview–Fort Oglethorpe High School. Following high school, he attended Georgia Northwestern Technical College, where he earned an associate degree and later shared his knowledge and passion by teaching in the welding program. Hunter proudly put his welding skills to work at McKee Foods, where he was employed for the past seven years. An avid outdoorsman, Hunter had a deep love for nature and adventure. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and racing motocross. In more recent years, he found joy in deer hunting, fishing, mudding, and shooting firearms. No matter the activity, Hunter embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm and skill.
Above all else, Hunter’s greatest love was his children. He supported them wholeheartedly in their interests and outdoor pursuits, from motocross racing to barrel racing to welding. Hunter cherished every moment spent with his kids and took great pride in teaching them valuable life skills, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Hunter is preceded in his death by his stepmother, Kristen Jones; his grandparents, Johnny and Gwin Sweeton, Walter Davis, Morris Chadwick, and David “Pop” Holder
He is survived by his loving wife of thirteen years, Charity Powell Sweeton; children, Madeline Powell, Peyton Sweeton, Camden Sweeton, and Huntley Sweeton; his mother, Angel (Scott) Williams; his father, Tony Davis; biological father, John Jones; his brother, Creed (Ariauna) Davis; grandmothers, Debbie Brooks, Jackie Chadwick, and Suzanne Holder; aunt, Vickie Davis; uncles, Jerry Davis and Ricky Francisco; close cousins, Brandi Francisco Turner and Taylor Sweeton, as well as many more extended family and close friends.
A memorial visitation will be held at Hope Church on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a celebration of life beginning at 5:00 p.m. The family welcomes flowers but also welcomes donations to be made to the family to be used toward education expenses for his children.
