Jack Donald Armstrong age 86, of Rock Spring, Georgia passed away Wednesday – April 19, 2023. He was born in LaGrange, Georgia to the late John E. and Mary Armstrong. Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a proud veteran. He had resided in the Rock Spring area for the past fifty-nine years and was a previous resident of Flintstone, Georgia and the East Lake community in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of the Crawfish Springs Masonic Lodge #300 F&AM. He was an electrician by trade and had worked for U.S. Pipe, Standard Coosa Thatcher and retired from Tennessee Valley Authority as an Electrical Foreman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Rebecca Ann Anderson, sister: Judy Preston and brothers: James McDowell Armstrong, Richard (Geneva) Armstrong. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years: Shirley Ann Kettle Armstrong of Rock Spring, GA, their children: Donald Edward (Lynn) Armstrong of Rome, GA, James William Armstrong of Calhoun, GA, David Wayne (Linda) Armstrong of Locust Grove, GA, sister: Linda Gale Rickett of Reseca, GA, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday - May 5, 2023 at Chattanooga Veterans National Cemetery.
