James E. Birchett
March 22, 1949 ~ July 28, 2023

James E. Birchett, 74 of Ringgold, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 28th, 2023.

James was born in Chattanooga, TN, raised in the Tri State area and was of the Baptist faith.  He worked for the Wheland Foundry for 30 years and most recently retired from Lowe’s. James loved being surrounded by his family, especially his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who affectionately referred to him as “Jim Bob or Jimbo.” He proudly served his country in the US Air Force, was a Vietnam veteran and was a member of the VFW Post #3679 in Fort Oglethorpe, GA.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Jack K. and Addie Louise Birchett; and brother, Jack Lee Birchett.

Survivors include his brother, David (Vicki) Birchett; sister-in-law, Dorris Birchett; nieces and nephews: Steve (Jennifer) Birchett, Brian (Natalie) Birchett, Scott Birchett, and Stacy (Chris) Sears; great nieces and nephews, Cole and Ansley Sears, Addie Birchett, and Brooks Birchett.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 5th, 2023 from 1pm until the funeral hour at 3pm in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Michael Turner officiating. A private interment will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
