James Edgar Janow IIIEast Ridge

James Edgar Janow III, age 21 of East Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was born in Chattanooga, TN and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga Area. James was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed his time with his family and friends. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, with deployments to the Middle East and Australia. During his time in the U.S. Army James earned the Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandson, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. James was preceded in death by his mother, Stacey Janow; grandfather, Stephen Clayborn; and uncle, Cody Teague. Those left to cherish James’ memory are his loving wife, Josie Ella Janow; son, Cooper James Janow; grandparents, Darlene and Timothy Teague and James Janow Sr.; brothers, Stephen Wayne Janow and Isaac Janow; uncle, Brandon Clayborn; cousin, Brooklyn Clayborn; and great grandmothers, Joann Groogan and Brenda Clayborn. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 10, 2026 in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday and prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
