James “Jim” Knox
March 25, 1943 - May 14, 2023

James “Jim” Knox, 80 of Chickamauga went to be with The Lord on May 14, 2023. He was born on March 25, 1943 in Burlington, Wisconsin to Al & Clara Knox. He is a member of Grand Center Baptist Church in Chickamauga. He worked most of his life as the owner of Knox Drywall, construction, and building. He was active in the youth group at church, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, served as a member of Walker County Planning Commissions, and had a deep love of travel, and cultural experiences that he passed down to generations of daughters after him. He never met a stranger no matter what part of the world he was in, making lifelong friends along the country and the world.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Sandy Pope, Pat Ball, and Alva Jean Curtles.

Jim is survived by his wife of over 61 years Wanda Knox; daughter Rhonda (Greg) Tinker; granddaughter Lacey Tinker NP; great-granddaughter Maci Tinker; sister Rosa Blaylock all of Chickamauga Ga; brother Tommy (Beverly) Knox of Trenton Ga; sister-in-law Margie Raines of Rossville Ga; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the parlor of the funeral home on Tuesday May 16, 2023 and before the service on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday May 17, 2023 in the Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Gregg officiating. A burial will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville.
