James L. Johnson
September 24, 1946 - May 28, 2025

James L. Johnson, age 78, of Mosheim, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday.
He retired from Plus Mark after 36 years of service and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Christian Heritage Church.
Survivors include his wife: Kathy Johnson; three daughters: Beth Johnson (Joey Tipton), Janet (Eric) Banks, Tammy (Andy) Greene; grandchildren: Celena Carter, Sarah Posey, Jackson Posey, Kevin (Jamie) Greene, Rachael (Nathan) Crigger, Kelsi Feezell (Dakota Sisk), Megan (Aaron) Ellenburg, Dalton Johnson (Destiny Farnsworth), Kristen Johnson (Devon Willett), and Matthew Birmingham; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: June Lawson of Flintstone, GA, and his twin: Geneva (Jerry) Dockery; mother-in-law: Evelyn Oldham; brother-in-law: Eddie Oldham; special friend: Tina Sparks; special caregivers: Santanna Ray, Betsy Monroe, Tooter, and Lisa.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hermana and Isobel Johnson; brothers: Billy, Ted, and David Johnson; brother-in-law: Bill Lawson; sister-in-law: Geraldean Johnson; great-grandson: Kade Allen Sisk.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Christian Heritage Church. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Bo Ragon and the Rev. Eddie Malone officiating.
The body will be taken to W.L. Wilson & Son Funeral Home in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 – 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville, Georgia.
Pallbearers will be Joey Tipton, Dalton Johnson, Chris Johnson, Devon Willett, Aaron Ellenburg, and Matthew Birmingham. Jamie Johnson will be an honorary pallbearer.
